Through an analytical approach of a lecture Fairy Tales of Wealth I investigate how the changing landscape of the global rich shapes the visual language associated with luxury and wealth. In this lecture I also identify commonalities between the luxury goods sector and the world of art like for example the mechanisms of value creation and its function as a form of social distinction.
